What was/is the worst offender on a production car? (most likely non functional)
![]() 12/26/2013 at 12:53 |

I have seen those cheap and ugly as hell stick on ones from Wal-mart on everything from F-150's to Grand Caravans. Made me shudder everytime!

I wish they weren't a thing, but they SO are right now. I think the worst current ones are the new Range Rover
Rangies used to have functional vents, now we are supposed to believe that the door vents for some reason. Its a stretch, but there it is.

Any replica BMW M-car. Especially on ones in which the M cars didn't even have vents. And on ones that aren't BMWs.

lol right? Can't help it :]

I always hated the one on the Infiniti FX

Buick Lucerne. Why? Because those damn stick-on vents are everywhere now, stuck on to all kinds of cars. Always amazed that this was the inspiration.

I don't think the E46 M3 vents were functional, but I always liked them:

Do Buick portholes count?
![]() 12/26/2013 at 12:59 |

And here's the best :)
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:00 |

I like when someone sticks on the 3 vents on their shitty car and 1 falls off from a torrent of cheapness. All that's left is the adhesive mark of shame.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:00 |

I also nominate ALL Buicks. the enclave is particularly irksome.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:00 |
|
I'd like to think this was the inspiration
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:01 |
|
right? It gives me a sick feeling seeing e46 vents on a e36, idk why but yuuuck!
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:01 |
|
Me too, but they are literally the same shape and style as the ones from the Lucerne.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:02 |

GTR inspired i'm guessing. Almost forgot about the FX. QX is gross as well
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:02 |

But they looks so good on Maseratis like this one :)

Toyobaru Twins
Which the aftermarket have made worse:
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:03 |

Yeah that's stupid. The Discovery makes up for it because it's fender vents are where the factory snorkel goes.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:04 |

Its not like the F150 is a victim here...
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:04 |

didn't know the current ones are not functional, they always looked odd to me anyways.

No one is safe!!!

lol, holy scrotum pimple butter!
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:06 |

Fake, Faux, Nonfunctional, but damn sexy
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:07 |
|
yuck! I'm sure there are little kids driving around with them
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:09 |
|
Agreed. Although I'm assuming (hoping) you weren't referencing that car...

Buick stopped using port holes in the mid-60s, they should have never brought them back. I worked in a detail shop two years ago for a summer job. A guy brought in a Nissan Titan (I think) to be cleaned up. I was so tempted to just get some string, take them right off, and take off the glue behind it.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:12 |

Just a random side note: when searching for fake fender vents, I found an LX450 with Land Rover LR3 fender vents installed (functional/cut into the fender) and I kind of dig it.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:14 |

oh yes! :]
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:15 |

The Focus ones make me want to hurt babies.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:15 |
|
lol no, not sure what the hell that car was at first to be honest lol :]
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:16 |
|
lol, it's such an odd trend
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:17 |
|
dayum, that's a sweet LX450 all together, nice find
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:18 |
|
The front is less sweet, but yeah, the black motif serves it well.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:22 |

Legitimately the one thing I dislike about my BRZ.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:33 |
|
…. I'll say it. I hate how the ones on my car aren't functional, it really irks me esp. since they're such a predominant styling feature.

The new Kia K900 sedan will have them, and for the luxury market that Kia is targeting, they look terrible.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:42 |
|
I like'em :]
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:43 |
|
what the heck? It would look waaay better without them
![]() 12/26/2013 at 13:52 |
|
They are still a thing, and they are still horrible.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 14:07 |
|
lol, almost forgot the Chevy SS. Hopefully they make a vent delete on this, among other things * cough manual trans cough *
![]() 12/26/2013 at 14:11 |
|
Ohh I like them too, just wish they actually did something.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 14:44 |
|
Funnily enough, those only lasted a year or so before Ford yanked them out of that design. That entire generation of Focus was absolutely terrible though.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 14:45 |
|
Yep. Know what bugs me even more? The new Buick grilles are completely false too. Yes, the grille. Just solid black plastic between the chrome strips. No airflow or functionality whatsoever.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 15:17 |
|
Do rears count? I hate that the new Camaro now has a small after market that makes insert to bring attention to your fake vents.

"I'ma put this bro bar on my plastic bumper cover."
![]() 12/26/2013 at 15:26 |
|
well, except its a metal bumper (aside from the end caps) but yeah, the whole front is a bit gaudy.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 15:34 |
|
LOL good point, gawd those chrome things are ultra cheesy, Mustang as well :]
![]() 12/26/2013 at 15:34 |
|
My darling has them: I always thought they are just a stylish feature, of a very classy car.
![]() 12/26/2013 at 15:39 |
|
they are :]

The last iteration of the retro XJ was pretty terrible
![]() 12/26/2013 at 16:41 |
|
lol, oh yeah that's right :] That was an odd ball move indeed

Civic with an Integra bumper modified for BMW parts.

FYI, three vents denoted a six cylinder engine, four denoted an eight.
